"Nursing Home Visit in Chitre"

Visiting the nursing home in Chitre was absolutely heart wrenching. A study of older adults supports the theory that limited self-efficacy (exercise, activities of daily living, etc.) can be seen as a barrier to participating in health-promotion activities. Although the conditions and mission of the nursing home were good ; the overall goal of the nursing home should be to increase older adult population in health promotion activities, such as following an exercise program and eliminating unhealthy behaviors. I realized how important it is to eliminate barriers to health promotion for older adults to prevent disability, maximize independence and create a healthier way of living.
